"I've been able to eliminate most of my medications. I feel great and have greatly improved my quality of life!"
During the last 30 years, I have tried more diet programs than I can remember. I even went to doctors who used questionable injections and pills. Nothing I tried worked long term. I just never "got it". I began my most recent weight loss quest at 59 years old and 240 pounds.
At my beginning weight, I felt unhealthy and 20 years older than I really was. My only exercise was some occasional gardening; otherwise I would get out of breath. I was relying on an oxygen concentrator at night and 6 prescriptions every day.
Arthritis kept me on the couch most of the time. I was addicted to carbs and avoided fruits and vegetables like the plague.
Before I started the Doctors Clinic weight loss program, everything that required movement was difficult - walking, getting out of the car, putting on clothes. I struggled to cut my own toe nails, play with my dog, cross my legs and put on my socks.
My self esteem was low and I resented the restrictions that my weight placed on my lifestyle. I had an irritable attitude because I was angry about my lack of self control.
I was desperate to feel better and saw a Doctors Clinic commercial featuring my friend Janet. I knew that she was a practical and level-headed person. I decided to try one more program. My first week brought a 13 1/2 pound loss and then I finally "got it." That's when I started to believe.
I have lost a total of 85 pounds to date and I am so much happier with myself. My irritation level has gone down because I realize that I'm a strong person who can accomplish difficult things.
I can now easily do all of those things that were once made difficult by weight. I enjoy water aerobics and even bought a Gazelle exercise machine which I use faithfully every morning. I recently hiked in Palo Duro Canyon, which was impossible before. I am healthier than I have been in years, even eliminating many of my medications.
At the Doctors Clinic, I was always treated with respect and in a very professional manner, I began to feel more like a friend and have really enjoyed the relationships I have with the staff. I'm so grateful for their acceptance and encouragement, and amazed that they don't seem to realize they're miracle workers.
I've told my friends and family (and every stranger who will stand still long enough) about the Doctors Clinic. I love to share my story in hopes that it will help someone take the first step to enjoying the same lifestyle improvement that I have.
When asked about the Doctors Clinic, I tell everyone that the people are great and the plan works, if you stick to it. I make sure they understand that you're under a doctor's care so it's safe. I also tell them that the cost of the plan is greatly offset by the savings on groceries. I always say that if they're interested, I'll be glad to talk with them and give them more information.
