This treatment has been touted as the latest breakthrough for body sculpting, cellulite reduction, and spot fat reduction.

It is an aesthetic medical specialty developed in 1952 by Dr. Michael Pistor of Paris, France, and was brought to the U.S. in 1998.

For years, we have known that certain supplements, vitamins, and/or medications taken orally would increase the body’s ability to burn fat.

Now, through mesotherapy, these medications can be administered directly to a specific area for spot fat reduction.

Mesotherapy works by targeting receptors on the fat cell’s surface, which produce lipogenesis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat breakdown).Receptors that break down fat are known as beta receptors, and those that create fat are known as alpha receptors.

The physician will select the formula most specific to treat your condition or appearance concern.

This formula is then injected through numerous tiny microinjections into the mesoderm, the layer of tissue between the skin and muscle where most fat is stored.

There it will slowly diffuse into the fat cells and produce fat breakdown (lipolysis) by stimulating the beta receptors and prevent fat absorption (lipogenesis) by blocking the alpha receptors.

Professor Susan Fried, an obesity expert at the Baltimore V.A. Medical Center, tested the formula on human fat cells.

“The rate of breakdown actually increases two or three times over,” stated Fried.

The needles used by the physicians are extremely small.

Therefore, the procedure is much less painful than one might expect, and can actually be performed in as little as half an hour, allowing you to be treated and return to your normal lifestyle with no down time.

The results from mesotherapy spot fat reduction are considered permanent as long as the patient adheres to a proper nutrition and exercise regimen.

Mesotherapy is getting such phenomenal results that it has been the subject of numerous articles and reports.

In fact, both CBS’s 48 Hours and ABC’s 20/20 have done feature pieces on mesotherapy.

Mesotherapy is a highly specialized treatment requiring in depth training and education.

Our physician, Gerald Parker, D.O., is known as one of the preeminent physicians in the United States trained in this field.

His training includes personally working under Dr. Jacques Le Coz of Paris, France, the foremost authority in the world today on mesotherapy, as well as experts from Brazil, Venezuela, Canada, and the U.S..

Dr. Parker is also a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Mesotherapy.

Mesotherapy spot fat reduction treatments are available in Amarillo and the Tri-State area exclusively at the Doctors Clinic.
